I first started teaching Sunday school in the 7th grade in Verona, Missouri, where I was born and raised. After graduating High School I attended Missouri University and majored in vocational home economics. I later received training and certification for teaching elementary education in New Mexico. Throughout my career I've taught all grades as either a substitute or a regular teacher. Between teaching assignments I served as Outreach Director for First Baptist Church in Albuquerque, N.M., at one time as well as Acting Children's Director for a short time. During our stay in Denver, I was a Realtor and co-owner of Century 21 Continental. While in Denver, I taught the Ladies Sunday School class at Riverside Baptist Church.
For more than 20 years, while living in the Branson area, I've taught adult basic education and literacy in three communities for Crowder College and Ozark Technical College. I was awarded the Missouri Distinguished Adult Basic Education Service Award for distinguished leadership and dedication in all aspects of Adult Basic Education in the community, region, and state. This award was given to one GED teacher in the state. I was included in "Who's Who of American Women","Whos's Who of American Educators", & "Who's Who of American Business Women". I was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. I volunteer at Pregnancy Life Line to tutor those who want to pass the HISET test. I currently teach the Senior Ladies Life Group at the First Baptist Church in Kimberling City, MO.
Aside from being published with the four books offered on this website, I also write a weekly column for local newspapers entitled "Train Up A Child" which has been well received. I also write a monthly column for the Missouri Pathway titled "Raising Children". Both columns coincide with my blog called "Raising Kids - Ideas from the Lamb"
